ROAR secondary school training – 4x two-hour modules
Date/Time
02/03/2021 - 09/03/2021 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
ROAR – The response to mental health in primary schools, was originally created as a resource to equip primary school staff to feel confident in responding to mental distress in children, following a Whole School Approach review in 2017.
The results from this exercise told us that staff wanted to be able to spot the signs and symptoms of mental distress and feel more knowledgeable in knowing what to do. At least one staff member in every primary school across the city has now received the ROAR Training.
We are excited to now offer ROAR secondary school training, an adapted version of ROAR Primary, but focusing on:
”A response to mental health in secondary schools”.
ROAR secondary will equip delegates with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to respond to mental distress in young people, as well as some useful resources they can use.
Taking place over four weeks in March 2021, each 2-hour module will focus on different mental health issues, along with interactive discussion and useful resources.
The ROAR Response aims to do just that. As a first-line response aimed at equipping frontline professionals with the tools to provide early intervention and support to children experiencing mental distress.
PLEASE NOTE: We are asking for only 2 members of staff from each school to book on to this training. By booking your place, please commit to attending all four sessions, which will be delivered via Zoom:
